Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. What do you expect to see? I would expect the freckles to stay on the sims face. Any skin detail in the face will just go away. What happens when the bug occurs? If I were to add freckles to a mermaid sim and then change their hair or clothes or anything about them at all, the freckles automatically disappear, regardless of the human and mermaid form being linked.
